Nancy Linstead went through several sketches (see below) before settling on the final three-layered version of the main cake.She constructed a cake "dummy" out of styrofoam, fondant and plaster. This model will be able to stand up to the heat and handling of a lighted film set. Fresh roses, rose petals and a dusting of cocoa powder will be applied to the dummy each time we shoot with it.
Today we unveiled the cake for the first time!
