Foley with Studio West

It takes a lot of work to make that perfect sizzle. Gary Miranda and Mark Kirchner are heading up the team that will re-create every step, rustle of clothing and clink of silverware in Well Done. They have recorded sounds on location at Cafe Luna and in our kitchen, but the bulk of the magic happens here, in a sound booth filled with kitchen props at Studio West.

This evening we have Mark at the controls while Gary's on the pots and pans. Monitors in the corner allow anyone creating sounds to synch up with the film footage and communicate with Mark. Several people pitched in to help, including Astra Kelly, Brandon Puda, Gerry Matthews, Craig Olson and Edgar Roblado.

In total, the team created about 600 new sounds from 2500-4000 takes (Gary said he lost accurate count after 2500)!

Thanks to Gary Miranda for getting these shots.
