We are so excited for our friend and fellow filmmaker, La Juan "Mo" Johnson.
We just got back from seeing his short film, Every Morning I Kiss the Sun, at the San Diego Black Film Festival this weekend. Several members of the cast and crew came down for the event. There was a lively Q&A after the screening, no doubt prompted by the heavy-hitting issues in the film.
Mo has been developing this script for years, and it's great to see it on the big screen. Congrats, Mo!
Update: This film screened later at the Playhouse West Film Festival and was a nominee for best short. We wish we could have been there!
